Abbas said to prove its good will and restore stability to the region, Iran in recent years has taken positive measures.
He said Iran's agreement to thousands of man/hour inspections by IAEA experts of its nuclear facilities, participation in international gatherings, hosting of an disarmament conference in Tehran and assertions of Iranian leaders that nuclear arms are religiously forbidden are among such positive steps.
He added that to this end, Iran reached an agreement with Turkey and Brazil through Tehran Declaration, voicing good will for exchange of 3.5 percent enriched uranium with the 20 percent one to meet its fuel needs and accepting that the swap take place in Turkey.
Westerners, however, did not take any measures in that connection just because of their own interests and created obstacles on the way, he added.
